Talamex Navigation Lights

If you want to experience the serenity of boating after nightfall you’re going to need navigation lights.  Contrary to many a boatman’s belief, there are actually quite strict requirements for night time water based fun, and the correct set up is essential for keeping you and other craft safe. 

The UK legal requirements are

Under 7 metres  - A single white 360 light, or head and stern lights. 

7m  to 12m  - A single white 360 light, or head and aft lights with a range of 2 miles.   A combined port and starboard light, or single port and starboard lights with a range of 1 mile. 

12 to 20m  - White head light with a range of 3 miles.   White stern light with a range of 2 miles.  Single port and starboard lights with a range of 2 miles. 

Over 20m - White head light with a range of 5 miles.  White stern light with a range of 2 miles.  Single port and starboard lights with a range of 2 miles.
