3 strand Polyester rope has high wear and abrasion resistance with stretch up to 15% making it perfect for mooring lines. It is 30% stronger than polypropylene. 3 Strand Polyester maintains it’s flexibility and suppleness. It also has a high breaking breaking strain.
At Compass Marine we are able to offer a bespoke mooring line service. The sizes available are 4mm,6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18, 20mm 24mm, 32mm, 36mm in White, Blue, Black, classic natural coloured and Burgundy. Green is no longer available.
We also offer splicing with or without reinforcing thimbles

Braided Mooring Lines |
 Kingfisher top quality, hard wearing mooring lines have a braided polyester cover over a braided nylon core. With good abrasion resistance and a high breaking strength, the ends are whipped for a nice, neat finish. Braided lines are easy to coil and very comfortable to handle. These lines retain their flexibility.
One end has a 12" (30cm) eye spliced in and the other end is neatly whipped.

Liros Whipping Line |
 Keep the ends of your ropes neat and unfrayed by whipping them. Whipping forms a tight bind of the line's fibers near the end. The whipping can be made neat and permanent by tying it off or sealing with a flame.
Our Liros Whipping cord comes either unwaxed or with a wax coating which makes it easy to seal with a lighter |

Polypropylene Mooring Ropes |
 Polypropylene rope has a breaking strain approximately 30% less than 3 strand polyester, but, unlike polyester, this rope floats and is particularly popular with inland waterway users both here in the UK and on the Continent. An excellent budget alternative to the more expensive 3 strand polyester lines.
All our Polyprop lines come with an eye spliced in one end for ease of use.

8 Plait Nylon- Gleistein Octoply |
This extra strong 8 plait nylon rope is used for anchor warps and can be used in combination with anchor chain. It stretches up to 20% for superb shock absorption. Very strong with good abrasion resistance yet retains it's flexibility.

 Often you find that while tied up your ropes have managed to wear and cause damage to your top sides, especially while moored up for long periods of time. Compass Marine now offer these excellent heavy-duty Anti-Scuff Sleeves prevent scuffing from ropes and lines against your hull and top sides. |

Talamex Mooring Compensators |
 Mooring Compensators or Snubbers are fantastic bits of kit that take all the stress out of your mooring lines and deck cleats - thus prolonging the life of both. Talamex Mooring Compensators are easy to fit, resistant to UV and salt water.

Leaded Anchor Lines |
 These excellent anchor lines are manufactured from braided polyester rope with a lead core at one end of the rope. This means that you will not need chain, which can be very heavy and difficult to handle, with your anchor. The lines are very supple and non kinking and will be far kinder to your top coat than chain can be. The thimble that is ready spliced in one end makes attaching the line simple.
Storage and handling is made ultra easy by the whole thing coming in a handy storage bag. |

Shackles & Thimbles |
Our British Standard hot dipped galvanised bow shackles are more corrosion resistant. The Hot Dipping process fuses the molten zinc into the steel rather than just having a surface coating. The bow shackles can be used for joining galvanised chain or rope to buoys etc. as well as having many other uses on a boat.
Thimbles give a solid, hard surface for ropes when joining to chain with shackles etc. Our galvanised thimbles are British Standard Hot Dipped Galvanised so have longer lasting corrosion resistance.
